Put the target position on the room drawing
Locate the intended throwing position, target face and route of the returning ball before choosing the mounting side. Include ceiling beams, lights, fans, windows and the area someone could walk through. The useful station occupies space in front of and above the rack, not only the footprint of its base.
Separate that area from a lifter using a bar, a cable user and anyone loading storage horns. A target bolted to a rack does not make simultaneous activities compatible. If the room cannot keep the throwing area clear, consider a different approved location rather than shortening the planned space to fit a catalog picture.
Ask which point the quoted height describes
Target height may refer to the center of a disc, the top edge of a target or a marked aiming point. The mounting arm and the chosen upright holes also change the installed position. Request a dimensioned drawing from the finished floor to the required reference point, then record the total height to the top of the assembly.
REP specifically distinguishes its rack and rig height references on its own wall-ball target. Rogue gives a center-height relationship for its Infinity/Monster Lite version and directs Monster owners to another attachment. These are product-specific examples of why nominal rack height and generic target dimensions cannot be combined into a reliable installation plan.
Approve both connections and the rack installation
A bolt-together target can have one connection between the target plate and its arm and another between the arm and rack. Confirm both sets of parts, orientation, support surfaces and required fastening instructions. The Rogue Monster assembly drawing illustrates those separate joints; its hardware schedule belongs to that particular version.
The approval must also cover the rack as installed, including any anchoring requirements and the selected member. Do not attach an unapproved target to a decorative logo plate or copy a different series of bolts because their diameter seems close. A wall-mount option needs its own building connection and does not inherit approval from the rack kit.
Does a competition height guarantee enough ceiling space?
No. The actual target has an upper edge and mounting structure above its aiming point, and the moving ball needs an unobstructed path. Check the complete installed and operating envelope against the room.
Hand over a usable station
Before use, confirm the installed assembly matches the approved drawing, the specified fastenings have been completed and the intended wall ball is suitable for the target. Follow the maker’s inspection instructions. A loose plate, damaged bracket or uncertain connection calls for isolation and a matched repair, not a harder throw to see whether it holds.
Give the installer and facility operator the same drawing with the target datum and clear operating area marked. Ask PBF Fitness to review the proposed rack configuration and target location as a complete installation. Keep the station unavailable until the required mounting, room clearance and operating separation can all be provided.
