Start with the movements you will repeat
Jammer arms convert rack uprights into plate-loaded levers for presses, rows and power movements.
Their value depends less on the exercise list than on whether you can reach the correct start position quickly and reproduce it every session.
A fixed pivot creates an arc, so the effective resistance changes as the lever rotates.
Audit the attachment as a working station
Trolley height, handle location, plate position and a controlled starting stop determine whether that arc suits the intended movement.
Confirm upright size, hole diameter, hole direction and usable mounting faces. A nominal tube match is incomplete if the trolley collides with cable columns, J-cups, safeties or Smith hardware.
Check how the unloaded arm is raised, lowered and pinned. Heavy assemblies that require two hands or removal of other stations often become storage problems instead of daily tools.
Run a setup test before ordering
Map the forward swing, plate clearance and bench location on the floor. Also verify whether the rack must be anchored or ballasted for the manufacturer-approved mounting position.
Test one light set at every planned height and record the pin positions. Choose jammer arms only when setup time, start control and rack access fit the actual program; send rack dimensions and target exercises for compatibility review.
