The location explains the part's job
In a bushing-guided stack, an insert at a moving plate can guide that plate along a rod. A similarly named piece at the frame may instead hold the rod in place. A photograph of a loose plastic sleeve cannot establish which role it has.
Cybex's VR2 manual describes guide bushings at weight plates. Inspire's SF3 instructions illustrate bushings seated in the frame for rod mounting. These are examples of distinct locations, not evidence that their parts fit another rack.
The cushion underneath a resting stack has another function. Likewise, a Smith-bar carriage bearing belongs to a different assembly. Include the component's position in your request instead of asking only for a generic guide bushing.
Build a useful service-part request
Provide the rack model, serial or order reference, revision and the applicable exploded drawing. Mark the suspect location on an external photograph taken without reaching into the moving system. A sticking stack is a symptom, not proof that one particular insert has failed.
Ask the supplier to identify the correct part and any associated retainer, spacer or complete assembly. Dimensions such as bore, body length and flange shape help compare an identified item, but matching one diameter does not approve an alternative material or retention method.
Keep the repair boundary intact
Do not force guide rods, ream the insert, pack a loose fit or replace it with an unapproved printed sleeve. More lubricant is not a confirmed repair for a damaged or missing bushing. Stop use of an uncertain system and obtain model-specific service advice.
Removing a guard, supporting a top plate or withdrawing rods can expose a heavy moving assembly. Leave the disassembly and restoration sequence to the prescribed service process. Do not loosen parts simply to obtain a clearer photograph.
Send PBF Fitness the identification and location evidence for the rack in question. Request the approved replacement scope, supply quantity and return-to-use checks. The purchasing decision is the correct complete service item, not the cheapest sleeve with a similar hole.
